Silver Springs-Stagecoach Hospital District

 About SSSHD

The Silver Springs/Stagecoach Hospital District was created in 1985 by an act of the Lyon County Commissioners and the conveyance of property. The intent of the Commissioners was to assist in the development of local health care services for the citizens of the Silver Springs-Stagecoach area. The SSSHD client service area has a history of boom and bust economic cycles from the Gold Rush to the recent real estate bubble.

The SSSHD Board consists of 5 unpaid, publicly elected volunteers whose job it is to provide and oversee accessible, affordable health care services at the Lahontan Medical Complex.

                The SSSHD is a Lyon County taxpayer supported entity. It acts as a resource for local  health care practitioners by providing clinical  space and  equipment at a reduced lease rate.  It is recommended that tenants agree to accept Medicare, Medicaid, insurance reimbursements and to offer income based sliding scale fees to patients.
